Fold the Net
Read the puzzle
Net: a row of three squares, a triangle (tip up), a star, and a half-square (left half solid); an arrow pointing right sits above the star; a ring sits below the half-square, with an upright bar right of the ring. Each option shows a cube's top, left side and right side. A: top half-square, left star, right arrow pointing up. B: top star, left ring, right half-square with its solid half next to the top. C: top star, left triangle pointing up, right ring. D: top bar, left half-square with solid half next to the top, right arrow pointing left. Symbols keep their direction. Which cube folds from this net?
Symbols keep their direction. Which cube folds from this net?
B
Folded up, star, ring and half-square sit just like B.
How to solve it
Fold the net around the star as the top face. The arrow, triangle and half-square fold down as sides, the ring folds under the half-square to become a fourth side, and the bar ends up on the bottom, opposite the star.
So star, ring and half-square meet at one corner, with the solid half of the half-square along the star's edge, as cube B shows.
The trap is picking a cube because its three faces can be neighbours: in the other options the symbols do not face the way the net makes them. The answer is cube B.
