How it works
- Every third fork shows a short puzzle level. Win it to see your letters, then walk through the doorway with your letter.
- Reach 3 checkpoints, then the finish, across 10 regions.
- Stations give hints, light, paint and gems. 2 gems open a shortcut for everyone.
- Your clock counts only while you walk. Leave any time and your walk is saved.
Questions
How does the maze work?
One big maze is open at a time, and a new one opens every Tuesday at 10 PM Saudi time, the moment the last one closes. You walk it in first person. At every third fork a short puzzle level shows. Win it to see which lettered doorway to take at that fork and the next two. Reach 3 checkpoints, then the finish, across 10 regions.
How many players are inside at once?
Up to 100 players walk the same maze together. When it is full, the page asks you to try again in a minute. You see the players around you as shapes, 4 seconds late.
How long does a walk take?
About 4 hours in all for a typical player, and about 1 hour of walking for the fastest. You do not need to do it in one go. It saves exactly where you stop, and you can come back any time in the week.
What happens if I do not finish?
Your walk still gets a place, by how far you got. Unfinished walks are placed after the finishers, by the last fork reached.
When does a new maze open?
Every Tuesday at 10 PM Saudi time, the moment the last one closes. This page shows that time in your own time zone.
How are places decided?
By walking time. The clock counts only while you walk. It stops while a level or a station puzzle is open, and when you leave. Until the maze closes you see your place among the players who finished so far. The final place is set when the maze closes.
What happens if the connection drops?
Keep walking. Your walk is saved on this device, and it reaches the server when you are back online. Other players hide until then.
How do I walk on another device?
Open More in the maze, then Continue code. Type the 12 letters and digits on the other device, here under "Have a continue code?". One device walks at a time.
Can I talk to other players?
No. There is no chat and no names. Everyone is a number and a shape. The only things you share are the light around you and the shortcuts you open.
Does the maze make sound?
No. The maze is silent, so you can keep your own audio playing. A phone can buzz at a dead end or a gem, and you can turn that off in More.
